60% off -- AEGIS Bike Frames

A friend of mine just posted this....

To anyone who has ever wanted to buy an Aegis Bike -- they're going out of business unless the owner can find a new partner. In the meantime, all frames in stock are on deep discount:

This email includes a special 60% Off offer on all in stock AEGIS frames and is available to recipients and their family and friends. Multiple frame purchases will receive deeper discounts. This offer will be expanded to the general public in the near future.

All stock frames are available at http://www.shop.aegisbicycles.com.

All frames are listed at 50% off and if you enter the coupon code clearance60, you will receive an additional 20% off the sale price, for an effective total of 60% Off.

Because most recent sales to those who know AEGIS have purchased more than 1 frame; I will also offer an additional 10% off any 2nd and 3rd frame purchased at the same time. The 4th and 5th frame purchased at the same time will receive an additional 25% off.

Discounts will be applied to the highest priced frame 1st.

For Example:
• A New $2,500 AEGIS Trident or Victory frame for $1,000.
A New $3,500 AEGIS ZAERO frame for $1,400.
A Victory and Trident would be $1,900.
A Club that agrees to buy 5 Tridents would pay $4,300 or $860 each.
• Some Refurbished frames as low as $400.

FAQ:
What's the Deal with AEGIS?
AEGIS has been producing some of the best bike frames in the world for over 20 years. Unfortunately, in late 2007, the ability for small US manufacturers to renew credit got much tougher. It's been expensive enough doing business in the U.S. and especially in Maine, but we were really beginning to make some significant strides forward.

In the 1st quarter of 2008, I made the difficult decision to start shutting down the manufacturing facility for weeks at a time. And, it was working. But, by the Fall of 2008, the bottom of the economy fell out and by October, AEGIS stopped all manufacturing. I hoped I'd be able to restart, but after 12 months, I'm not sure what the future of AEGIS will be.

AEGIS is out of business. There are a couple of scenarios where AEGIS may re-emerge.
1. The 1st is that I am able to find a partner or buyer to purchase all the assets of AEGIS. If you're interested in this, email me at pete@aegisbicycles.com.
2. AEGIS has over 200 frames finished and ready for sale. If I can reduce inventory, there may be a chance. The most likely buyer of these frames are those who know the quality and performance of them. These frames are being sold with no warrantee and no promises other than they had been manufactured in the same way as all the frames made over the years by AEGIS.
